The SSCO Program at Horbury High School
We Beat The Storm!
We squeezed in the year 6 Kwik Cricket festival yesterday with seconds to go before the storm struck! All six schools attended at Horbury School and three pitches were in play with year 9 pupils umpiring. Due to the length of each game, each school played just two fixtures pulled out at random. The scores of the two matches were then added to determine the winners. Each child had to both bowl and bat one over and it was impressive to see how easily the players could hit a six. Middlestown, Horbury Primary and Horbury Bridge played well but it was West Bretton who came in third, St Peters finishing second and Netherton took yet another winners trophy away. As the trophy and certificates were being presented the first drops of rain fell and everyone was able to rush away just in time.
